Strawberry Cream Pie is a simple summer dessert that’s super fresh and fruity. Made with just six ingredients and no baking!

Strawberry Cream Pie Recipe (1)

Strawberries are EVERYWHERE in the summer months. You can find them at your local grocery stores (usually on sale), at Farmer’s Markets or even better, pick them yourself! I typically buy mine at the grocery store. My kids eat strawberries like they are going out of style. I was amazed that I had any left for this recipe.

Well, I did put a note on the package that said, “Don’t touch!”. Thankfully, they listened to me and I was able to make this luscious, dreamy Strawberry Cream Pie. Maybe it should be called Strawberry Dream Pie because it’s like a dream come true.

It’s light, creamy, sweet and is like pure heaven in your mouth. Strawberry lovers will go nuts over this easy pie recipe. Seriously, it’s soooo good.

It’s not entirely no-bake though because you do have to cook the pie crust. I kept things simple and used a frozen pie shell that I could bake at home. I recommend buying the deep dish pie shell so you have more room for that heavenly strawberry filling.

It has both strawberry Jello and vanilla pudding mix as well as loads of Cool Whip to give it that creamy texture. Sliced strawberries are mixed throughout.

It may not be the healthiest dessert, but oh well. Indulge a little!

Variations and Substitutions

  • Substitute with other berries. Use other berries like fresh blueberries, raspberries or blackberries. You can also make it a mixed berry cream pie by mixing a variety of berries together.
  • Make it no-bake. Use a graham cracker pie crust instead of a traditional pie crust. You can make your own homemade crust with graham crackers or use a store-bought graham cracker crust.
  • Add a chocolate twist. Add chocolate chips or drizzle chocolate sauce over the top of the pie.
  • Try another flavor of Jello. Swap out the strawberry jell-o for another flavor.

Storage Instructions

Store leftover strawberry cream pie in the refrigerator. Make sure you loosely cover it in aluminum foil or plastic wrap so it will stay fresh longer and won’t absorb the other food smells in the fridge. Keep it for 2 to 3 days.

Can I Freeze?

You can freeze strawberry jello pie, but keep in mind that texture of the cream filling won’t be the same. If that doesn’t bother you, you can store the pie in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 months. Thaw the pie in the fridge overnight before serving.

Tips and Tricks

  • Look for ripe strawberries. They’ll be juicy and sweet in your pie.
  • Pre-bake the crust ahead of time. Let the crust cool completely before using it in the recipe.
  • Make sure you chill. For best results, chill overnight or at least for 4 hours. The longer it chills, the easier it will be to cut into slices.
  • Add your toppings just before serving. This way your strawberries and whipped cream will be nice and fresh.

FAQ

Can I Make My Own Crust?

Yes, you can definitely make your own homemade pie crust! I usually don’t make my own pie dough, but I bet it would even that much more amazing if you did!
Try a flaky pie crust, sweet and salty graham cracker crust or a buttery crust.

Can I Use Homemade Whipped Cream?

You can use homemade whipped cream for the topping. If you want to use homemade whipped cream for the filling (instead of Cool Whip), you’ll need to use homemade stabilized whipped cream so it holds its shape.
